Muhammed Patel is a member of the Transportation Advocacy team at NRDC, working closely with the Midwest Climate and Energy team to advance policies, programs, and standards that help to decarbonize the transportation sector. Before NRDC, Muhammed served as a consultant for state agencies and nonprofits on transportation policy, including authoring successful federal grant applications for pedestrian mobility options, transit, and freight movement. During that time, Muhammed authored the Accelerator for America Playbook for Workforce Development, meant for state and local project owners to create policy and processes to accelerate equitable workforce development pipelines. 

Muhammed has a degree in Environmental Engineering from Northwestern University where they focused on sustainable cities and brownfield redevelopment. He lives in Chicago and is always happy to connect in person or virtually.
