Active Transportation Alliance

Amy Rynell is the executive director of the Active Transportation Alliance, a non-profit organization whose vision is a thriving Illinois abundant with walking, bicycling, and public transit options to create healthy, sustainable, and equitable communities. She recently served as a co-chair of the Plan of Action for Regional Transit Steering Committee commissioned by the Illinois legislature to bring forth recommendations on the transit system we want, how to fund it, and how to implement it. Passionate about sustainable transportation, Amy is co-chairing ICJC’s Clean & Equitable Transportation Campaign. Amy holds a Master of Arts in social service administration from the University of Chicago and Bachelor of Arts from University of Notre Dame. She loves getting around by foot, bicycle, bus, and transit and is raising a young environmental advocate.
