Solar technicians return to Peoria to put learned skills to use

PEORIA, Ill. — ICC Solar Pipeline Training graduates are back home in Peoria putting their learned skills to work. These students first learned technical skills through the Tri-County Urban League.

Sunpeak, a solar company out of Madison, Wisconsin, hired three Peoria grads who are working on the installation. A local graduate says this opportunity has changed his life in ways he didn’t think was possible.

“It was really amazing to come from in February,” said Mauricio Alwan, ICC/Urban League graduate. “[I] didn’t know anything about solar whatsoever, and now I’m extremely passionate about it. I love it and I want to be my future honestly.”
