On Wednesday, people gathered at the Lincoln Library to talk about the future for clean energy here in Illinois.
Community members were invited to talk about what’s working in their community and what could be better.
The goal is finding a way to bring the state to 100 percent renewable energy by 2050, build a carbon-free power sector by 2030 and reduce pollution through immediate action to electrify the transportation sector.
“I really hope that people, as we go through this for the fall, take advantage of the chance to participate in these sessions because we really do want to hear from people,” Scott Allenn, of the environmental outreach coordinator with Citizens Utility Board, said.
All of the feedback from the meeting will be sent to the Clean Jobs Coalition Policy team.
