Madeline Semanisin leads NRDC’s climate and energy work in Illinois, focusing on the development and advocacy of policies that reduce emissions, promote equity, and create a cleaner, more sustainable future. She is passionate about advancing policies for equitable decarbonization in Illinois, with a focus on building decarbonization, clean energy solutions, and a just transition away from gas. Semanisin earned her law degree from Sturm College of Law at the University of Denver, graduating with the Public Good Distinction. She is based in NRDC’s Chicago office.
