The Clean and Reliable Grid Affordability Act
The Clean and Reliable Grid Affordability Act (CRGA), which was signed into law in January 2026, will expand our access to clean, reliable, and affordable electricity by:
- Updating and maximizing Illinois’ energy efficiency policies
- Offering customers more options to reduce their electricity demand during expensive peak hours
- Requiring transparent energy planning by municipal utilities and rural electric cooperatives
- Reducing barriers to building necessary transmission lines

The Northern Illinois Transit Authority Act
The Northern Illinois Transit Authority (NITA) Act, which was signed into law in December 2025, will fix and fund our public transit system by investing $1.5 billion into public transportation across the state. The NITA Act will:
- Implement long overdue reforms to ensure the CTA, Pace, and Metra deliver a coordinated, cost-efficient regional transit service in Northeastern Illinois
- Provide transformative funding to 50+ public transportation agencies across Illinois, increasing service frequency and reliability
- Mitigate air and climate pollution across the state

The Climate and Equitable Jobs Act
The Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA) was signed into law in 2021, marking a turning point in our clean energy future. It set a new standard for clean energy legislation that focuses on affordability and equitable job creation.
