On the day that interested parties were scheduled to submit comments to the Illinois Power Agency (IPA) on its draft plan for long-term procurement of renewable energy, the Illinois Clean Jobs Coalition released the following statement:

“The Illinois Power Agency (IPA) proposal on the Long-Term Renewable Resources Procurement Plan is a strong step forward for the state of Illinois. Working together we can agree on a final plan to deploy significant amounts of renewable energy, including new wind and solar power, as envisioned in the bipartisan Future Energy Jobs Act (FEJA), particularly in disadvantaged communities most in need of new jobs, investment, and cleaner air. We applaud the IPA for listening to members of our coalition in proposing this plan. The final version should result in new investments, new jobs and health benefits that will serve people equitably across the state of Illinois and propel us all toward a clean energy future. We look forward to seeing it finalized and implemented in the near future.”
